Repairs at Stony Brook Mill

Historic site gets much-needed attention

by Jonathan Mayo

Two crated grindstones lay ready for installation in Brewster's Stony Brook Gristmill. Built over 350 years ago, this historic site has stood the test of time.

The mill's sluice has been completely rebuilt.

In addition to these repairs, The Town Of Brewster approved $35,000 for an engineering study of the mill pond dam, which is leaking just upstream from the mill.

Volunteers Needed

Brewster's "Stony Brook Sites Committee" is seeking volunteers to help with various public programs at the mill.
