I am an Americam Hero. A great American hero.
I believe this needs to be acknowledged.
I do not think it inappropriate to receive a medal of some sort in a White House ceremony. On the contrary, I think it would be perfectly appropriate. I even think my heroism should be acknowledged from the floors of both the Senate and the House of Representatives.
I would not be adverse to having at least one day set aside to acknowledge me. Joe Quigley day. I would even accept a random Tuesday. Since nothing ever really happens on Tuesdays, this would give meaning to at least one of them.
I would gladly accept whatever an American hero should receive. A parade, perhaps. Maybe a big dinner in a very fancy place I could not afford to eat at on my own.
What is it that I have done to be an American hero?
Well, basically nothing.
But that is irrelevant.
I am a hero because I said so.
I keep hearing the politicians throw around the term “job creator”, and I have seen the benefits they have extended to this class of people. However, I have not seen the “job creators” actually do anything. If they had done something, anything, wouldn't the unemployment numbers be extremely low with most Americans working?
Wouldn't the economy be better off?
But they have the title "job creator".
So I figure the title comes first, and somewhere down the road things will be done to justify the title.
Could work the same for me.
Give me all that comes with the title of American Hero and somewhere down the road I just might do that for which the title is justified. Or not.
But if I don't, I will still get to keep whatever stuff I was given.
I think that is a great idea. I have seen it work.
If they can do it for the job creators who haven't created jobs yet, they can do it for me.
