Veterans' Day

During the recent government shut down a flock (or would that be a gaggle, a murder, or a pride) of politicians ran to the WWII Memorial where the media and tourists were with their cameras, and spoke about their love of veterans.

Where are these same people now that there are no media and tourists with cameras gathered conveniently close to the Capitol building when public assistance has been cut for 900,000 veteran and their families?
