Making Plans Yet ? & A Blue Polka-Dot Bikini Cocktail

Vacation, vacation, location. Are you ready for the warm weather? Are you ready for sunny days with highs in the upper 70s low 80s, with warm sand under the feet? Are you ready for hiking nature trails through Truro, WellFleet, Brewster, Dennis, Yarmouth Port, Sandwich and more? Are you ready to take on those rail trails and biking trails? I know it's only March, but think about it, in 90 days it will be June, 90, as in days, or 2160 hours. Yes we are talking hours now. So do you know where you are staying? Are you sure you are still in Aunt Elizabeth's good graces? Didn't cousin Ed say they were selling the cottage and moving to someplace else, but where and you really liked the proximity to the beaches and other other towns. And that motel, I heard the owner sold it, but didn't he buy another and what's the name of it? 90 days is not looking so far off now is it? And if you want to get that special place you better start booking it now or it will be someone else's special place the week you wanted it to be your special place. You get the picture, so many things to do, so little time to get it all done. But hey this is Cape Cod and we all love it, and some of us just could never give it up nor do we want to. But for those of you who are unable to make this your home we want you to come and enjoy yourself. So get thinking, get planning, get those reservations made start counting down the days till you are going to be on old Cape Cod. See you soon.
So it's the beginning of the March and so is the time for the restaurants to reopen, and thus the local business report we love to eat up.
Cook's Seafood Restaurant located at 1120 Iyannough Rd, Hyannis and online at
Seafood Sams of South Yarmouth located at 1006 RT-28, South Yarmouth

Roadhouse Cafe located at 488 South St, Hyannis

These are just a couple of the places I have been waiting to open. April will see the next big swing of openings then by May pretty much all the seasonal restaurants are open. But I have to say let's not forget those great places that have kept us fed through the past 3 months. Places like
Red Nun located at 673 Main St, Dennis Port
Doyles Restaurant located at 1329 MA-28, South Yarmouth,
      Guapo's located at 136 MA-6A, Orleans

And a whole bunch more, folks the crowds still have not arrived yet (ok unless it's the weekend and breakfast time) So get out there as support our local eateries and eat up a storm.
Well hello and welcome back,  can you believe that it is March already, and in less than 2 weeks we will be singing and dancing a lucky jig round the tower. Yes this time of year gets me going as all the green reminds me of the coming green lawns and leaves on the trees which all mean warmer times. I have even been known to put an extra green beacon on the tower now and then. But the big boys kind of frown on that so I can only do it for 1 or 2 evenings and have to be sure it is not in conflict with the main beacon herself. I keep trying to find that Leprechaun with his pot-a-gold, but still no luck to this point. I listen for the coins dropping into the sea as he crosses over the rainbows dragging his pot were ever he goes. Sometimes I wonder if he is not out looking for lost Irish souls in need of some good luck. Yes, I do believe in the afterlife and the spirits that roam across the seas looking to finish undone business or love ones they have business with. The beacon light has picked up many an image or two, or three. And in these last winter and coming early spring days when the fog seems to set in a little heavier is when the show themselves the most. Seems they can not resist the lore of the mysticness of the fog, there is just something about it. Anyway it is quite a time around here the next couple weeks, and we will have to see what that green little man carrying his shillelagh and singing that eery tune he likes. Other than the spirits, the cold, some fog and the occasional fishing boat passing by, not much else happening around here. But the temperatures are to be rising soon and that will pull out those who have been hunkered down for the brutal months, and get back out there as I am sure many are starting to run low on provisions and funds. So I had better get back to my tinkering and fixing up the place so that when they do enter they waters this old gal is ready for them no matter what old man winter or mother nature left to throw at them. I hope you are starting to plan your summer vacations, and that we are on your list to visit. I would be very disappointed if you did not. Now before it gets too late, I will bid thee a dew and until we meet again, have a great and wonderful, especially if you can have it right here on old Cape Cod.
Well I think I have heard it all when it comes drink names then I come across another one. Well when it comes to the beach this is right up there, It has color and spots and even will fit many sizes. But drink to many and you start doing a polka on the tables. So I hope this gets you thinking fo heading to the beach, even if you have to do it in a parka right now but maybe it will help warm up the insides and get you thinking and planning of your summer vacation here on Cape Cod. Now please be a responsible host and consumer, we want friends health and alive for a long time, and not either in a plot or behind bars. Now on with the show.
