Norton A. Goldstein, 86, of East Falmouth, formerly of Needham and Medfield, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Faire Goldstein to whom he was married for 48 years. He was the son of Bert and Ida (Bereznick) Goldstein and the brother of Harold (Caroline) and Sylvia Jaffe. Devoted father of Linda Smith (Ronald) of Halifax, VT, Samuel Cohn (Lynn Wallisch) of Austin, TX, Julie Rosenfeld (Philip) of Key Biscayne, FL, Marcie Jarvis (Anthony) of The Highlands, NJ, Michael Cohn (Terri) of Marietta, GA, Daniel Cohn (Sheri) of Marietta, GA, Michael Goldstein (Donna) of Sharon, MA, Paul Cohn (Abby Aronson) of Athens, Greece. He was the grandfather of Nathaniel Selig, Alex Wallisch, Andrew and Lauren Cohn, Brian and Rachel Cohn, Matthew and Emily Goldstein, and Maya and Shuli Rosenfeld; great-grandfather of Cameron Selig . He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and good friends.
Norton graduated from Boston English High School and Northeastern School of Law. He practiced law for 50 years in Boston and Needham. He was a founding member and president of Temple Beth Shalom (Needham), President of the Needham Rotary, Needham Community Council, and the New Century Club. He was a member of the Kashrush Division of the Rabbinical Council of New England. He was a devoted volunteer at the Falmouth Hospital Thrift Shop and life-long Red Sox fan.
A funeral service will be held at the Falmouth Jewish Congregation, 7 Hatchville Rd, Falmouth on Monday July 6, 2015 at 11:30am. Following the service a gathering will be held at The Manor House on Coonamessett Circle. Family and friends are invited to attend Shiva at the family’s home on Monday July 6th, Tuesday July 7th and Wednesday July 8th at 7PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Falmouth Hospital Auxiliary, 100 Ter Heun Dr., Falmouth, MA 02540 or to a charity of one’s choice.
