Winter reading and discussion series.

Sign up for this winter's Reading and Discussion Series, "Point A to Person B: The Literature of Traveling and Transformation." Four scholars will examine the diverse nature of the journey as portrayed in poetry, prose and memoir. Participants will also be invited to share their interpretations of the texts. Attendance at all lectures is not required.

  • 22 January: “Hills Like White Elephants,” by Ernest Hemingway; “The Open Boat,” by Stephen Crane; and “A Summer Tragedy,” by Arna Bontemps, with Dr. Elaine Craghead
  • 26 February: “The God of Small Things,” by Arundhati Roy, with Anne Speyer
  • 26 March: “The Inferno,” by Dante Alighieri, with Dr. Paula Krebs
  • 23 April: “A Moveable Feast”/”The Sun Also Rises,” by Ernest Hemingway, with Dr. James Crowley.
