The "Love is in the air, or else it should be" Contest Winner is...

And we have a winner!  Congratulations to Tracy and Rich of Yarmouth Port

Tracy submitted the  story of her and her husband's romantic evenings at Fort Hill in Eastham:

I met my sweetie at work when I moved back to the Cape seven years ago. After a period of flirting he finally got around to asking me out on a date.

Full of mystery, he said he would meet me on a certain night at a certain time & took me to Fort Hill in Eastham to see something I had never seen before; the full moon rising out of the ocean in the most spectacular of settings. We shared a bottle of champagne and listend to classical music in what I consider one of the Cape's most lovely and romantic places.

Soon it became our tradition, to have a standing date for the full moon each month, even occasionally inviting friends and having full blown picnics on the grassy hills overlooking the marsh and ocean beyond. We've seen whales breaching, and fox, quail, deer and skunks, rain, snow and fog and every season. Whether the moon rises or not, it's our special time to talk and enjoy each others company.

One really special evening on a warm October, we were at Ft Hill with a growing number of moon watchers having our moon picnic date when he pulled a dozen white roses out of the trunk, gave me a card on which he had written a sonnet asking me to marry him with a beautiful ring of his design, a diamond surrounded by our birthstones, one being a moonstone. Well, I said yes, of course, to the cheering of all the people around us and a year later we were married on a lovely October evening with our closest family and friends and all the Fort Hill moon watchers looking on just as the most spectacular big, full moon rose out of the ocean.

Fort Hill is still our favorite date place and although our work schedules dont allow us to go there every month as we used to do, we still get to Fort Hill several times a year for a romantic date and some conversation and it will always be our special place.
