Cotuit Center for the Arts to Hold Open Auditions for Two Shows

Cotuit Center for the Arts to hold open auditions for two shows 

The Turn of the Screw, June 3 & 7 and 1776 June 9, 11 & 14

Director Carol McManus will hold auditions for The Turn of the Screw by Jeffrey Hatcher at the Cotuit Center for the Arts, 4404 Rte. 28 in Cotuit on June 3 & 7 at 7pm with call backs on Saturday, June 14 at 1pm. 

This multi-character vehicle for two, 1 man and 1 woman, will be double cast.  Perusal scripts are available at the arts center. 

Performance dates are slated for August 7-31.

On a lonely, isolated estate, an inexperienced governess, left to raise two small orphans, sees specters of the children's former governess and her lover--both dead--and fights them for the children's innocent souls. Jeffery Hatcher's taut, exciting adaptation cuts to the heart of Henry James' story.


Open auditions for the Tony Award-winning musical, 1776, Book by Peter Stone, Music and Lyrics by Sherman Edwards, will be held on June 9 and 11 from 6pm-9pm and on June 14 from 11am-2pm at the Cotuit Center for the Arts. 

Director Tara O'Keefe and musical director Steve Lindberg seek a cast of 23 men and 2 women for this Tony Award-winning musical.  They are open to cross-gender casting.  Rehearsals will begin in August. 

Production dates are slated for October 16-November 9, 2008.
