The Bloom is off Brewster
Brewster 7th grader laments loss of parade
A scene from the Brewster in Bloom parade a few years ago. CCT photo.
By Chris Doyle
I was wondering why there was no Brewster in Bloom parade this year. I found out that it was canceled and I was really sad.
I remember around two years ago there was a kid in the parade and he was riding a minibike in the pouring rain and it seemed that he was having a blast. That kid was me. I'm 12 years old now and I still consider that one of the most fantastic moments in my entire life.
I love that parade, and I can't speak for everybody, but I know most people also love that parade as much as I do. I'll do whatever it takes to get this parade started again.
If we need money then we should raise funds and also stop paying high-ranked town employees to sit around. We should also stop spending it on things we don't need like extra schools and big police stations. We should use that money to have the parade.
