Murder suspect charged, Harwich crash, jellyfish sting on Cape; kayakers rescued; B&E ring broken up

Suspect charged in murder at Cumberland Farms
WAREHAM - The man accused in a convenience store slaying in Wareham over the weekend will face a judge this morning. David Seeley, 29, is accused of killing Manuel Andrews, 53, of Onset, to settle an old score by beating him to death with a lottery ticket box at a Cumberland Farms in East Wareham. When Wareham PD, who received the report around 1 am Sunday morning, arrived at the scene, they found the victim semi-conscious on the floor inside the store. The 53-year old victim was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston where he was pronounced dead. Wareham police said there had been bad blood between the victim and the accused going back many years. They apparently met by accident early Sunday morning at the Cumberland Farm store.

One critically injured in Harwich crash; man charged with 3rd OUI 
Harwich craashHARWICH – Several people were injured, one critically in a major crash in Harwich Sunday afternoon. The crash happened about 5:15 PM at the intersection of Lower County Road and Brooks Road. Harwich medflightTwo vehicles appeared to have collided head-on. Some of the injured had to be freed using the Jaws of Life. One young man was critically injured and rushed to Harwich High School to meet a Medflight helicopter which flew him to a Boston hospital for treatment. Traffic was diverted for some time while Harwich Police reconstructed the crash. The pickup driver 37-year old Jason Zatlin of Harwich was among those taken to Cape Cod Hospital. Jellyfish apparently migrate to Cape
FALMOUTH – The Portuguese man-a-war jellyfish that have stung people in Westport and on Martha’s Vineyard are apparently still on the move north. Around 1:30 PM a person was reportedly stung at Bristol Beach in Falmouth. Lifeguards administered first aid and called for an ambulance crew to evaluate the victim who fortunately did not appear to be seriously injured. Authories also reported a second case and temporarily closed south facing beaches.

Kayakers rescued off Falmouth
FALMOUTH – Two kayakers were rescued from rough seas off Falmouth early Sunday afternoon. A Falmouth fire boat and the harbormaster’s boat rescued the two from the water near Green Pond in Vineyard Sound. Southwest winds have been gusting as high as 45 MPH at Chatham today. Both victims were brought to shore uninjured. Two others were also rescued in an unrelated case.

– A joint investigation between Yarmouth and Dennis Police led to the arrest of 4 people in connection with a rash of daytime B&Es into residences in the region. Police raided homes at 39 Mary David Road and 6 Colburne Path in Yarmouth Saturday. Arrested (left to right) were 20-year old Thomas Sheenan, 17-year old Melissa Saragoza, 22-year old Lee Kelley all of Yarmouth, and 26-year old David Kimball of Centerville.
