Falmouth Library to allow borrowers to trade food for fines

The Falmouth Public Library is allowing borrowers to trade food for fines this holiday season. Between now and Saturday, January 15, 2011, borrowers may pay there overdue fines with non-perishable food items.

The program allows borrowers to erase their overdue debt while helping a good cause at the same time.

Donation baskets will be placed in the lobby and children's room of the main library on Main Street. The East and North library branches will also be accepting non-perishable food items as payment.

All donations will be given to the Falmouth Service Center, the community food pantry.
