Community Health Center of Cape Cod in Mashpee receives $25K grant

Tower Foundation awards grant for health information technology

Community Health Center of Cape Cod recently received a $25,000 grant from the Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation to assist in the development of a comprehensive health information technology (HIT) plan positioning the organization to meet its major technology needs for the next five years.

With the Tower Foundation’s help, the Health Center hired a technology consultant to create a strategic technology plan which will support future quality initiatives, bring about organizational efficiencies, and align with the objectives of national health care reform. HIT improvements will encourage greater patient participation in their own health via a web portal to access their medical record and communicate with staff and will enable the Health Center to architect a scalable network that will support new building expansion.
