Suicide Prevention Day is September 10, 2011

Suicide Prevention Day is observed around the world on September 10.  On the Cape and Islands, the day will be commemorated with an awareness and fund-raising event to support the Cape and Islands Youth Suicide Prevention Project.

Community Health Center of Cape Cod and the Cape Cod Neighborhood Support Coalition are sponsoring an event on Saturday, September 10, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Trader Ed’s at Hyannis Marina, 1 Willow Street, Hyannis.

Tickets are $15 per person, and include a barbecue, entertainment, and raffle ticket.  There will also be live and silent auctions with items donated by local businesses and individuals.  For tickets or more information, contact Maura Weir, Regional Manager, Youth Suicide Prevention Project, at 774-392-5420 or [email protected].

The Youth Suicide Prevention Project is a program of Community Health Center of Cape Cod and funded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
