Sandwich COA to offer computer classes in January 2012

The Sandwich Council on Aging has announced a series of computer classes that will begin in January of 2012.

All classes will be held in the lower level of the Council on Aging building  at 270 Quaker Meetinghouse Road in East Sandwich.

Pre-registration and payment is required to attend the classes.  To sign up, please call 508-888-4737.

The classes being offered are:

  • Level1 Computer Class 1-90 minute class, $15.00
    Thisis an entry level class for those new to computers. Eachstudent will be given a printed copy of the lesson plan.


    Topicswill include: Learning the components of a computer system,understanding the keyboard, using the mouse, and exercises onchanging window sizes, scrolling and personalizing the computer.
  • Level2 Computer Class 2-90 minute classes, $35.00
    Thisclass is for beginning students you have either taken the Level 1class or have some proficiency with the keyboard and the mouse. Theprice includes a CD, a Flash drive and a printed copy of the lessonplan.

    Thesetwo lessons will cover: Creation of documents, changing fonts,changing size, color. Saving documents. Cutting, copying and pastingsections of documents. Saving documents to different devices.Deleting and restoring documents. Creating files and folders.
  • Level3 Computer Class 2-90minute classes, $35.00
    Thisclass is for the student that is proficient with the keyboard andmouse and wants to advance to the next level of computer usage. Theprice includes a CD, a Flash drive and a printed copy of the lessonplan.

    Thesetwo lessons will involve three major topics: Using the control panel,File management, and Document design.
