Three workshops to be offered this winter
The Cape Cod Foundation, in partnership with the Bilezikian Family Foundation and the Edward Bangs Kelley and Elza Kelley Foundation, Inc., is offering three workshops that will teach skills on strengthening nonprofit organizations.
“Supporting nonprofit organizations is an important part of the Cape Cod Foundation’s mission,” said Kristin O’Malley, Manager of Community Investment Services at the Foundation. “We believe these workshops will be a big step toward a stronger, more vibrant community.”
The first workshop, “Grant Writing Essentials,” will be held 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, January 26, at the Brewster Ladies Library, 1822 Main Street, Brewster. The presenter is Martha Moore, Director of Information Services for Associated Grant Makers of Massachusetts. The workshop will cover different types of grant proposals, a proposal’s typical components, and the steps in the process. It is intended for people who are beginning grant writing or need a refresher. The cost is $20 and payment must be received to reserve a spot. The Community Health Network Area (CHNA) 27 is offering slots in this workshop for its members. Please call Kristin O’Malley at the Cape Cod Foundation for more details.
The second workshop, “Board Roles to Board Goals” will be presented 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, by Jay Vogt of Peoplesworth. The workshop is a fast-paced, interactive workshop on how to create an annual board work plan. It will be held at the Cape Cod & Islands Association of Realtors, Inc. Conference Center, 22 Mid Tech Drive, West Yarmouth. The workshop is for board chairs and executive directors of nonprofits; ideally they will attend the workshop together. The cost is $25 per participant, which includes a workbook; payment must be received to reserve a spot.
A third training program, a three-part series on “Outcome Measurement,” scheduled for March 2012, will be available to members of CHNA 27. More information on this workshop will be available at the end of January.
