Snap Fitness 24/7 to offer free wellness and nutrition seminars

Sandwich fitness center helps members live better this season

When some people think of exercising, they think of big muscles, small waists and model-type physiques.   But one local fitness club is reminding members this season that working out isn’t just about how you look, but how you feel.

“Sometimes, it seems that people get so caught up with appearances, or the number on the scale, that they forget that the real results are in how they feel,” said Elaine Vakalopoulos, Snap Fitness 24/7 owner in Sandwich.  “At Snap, we don’t care what members wear, what their hair looks like or how long it’s been since they’ve been in a gym.   We care about the fact that they’ve come through our doors to do something good for themselves, and we want to do all we can to help.”

Snap Fitness 24/7, located in Canterbury Plaza, on Cotuit Road in Sandwich, just celebrated its fifth (5th) year in business.   Snap believes it has sustained in this downward economy because it offers members more value for their money as compared to many other fitness club.  “You can go to any fitness club and work out, but the reality is, if you are not comfortable, if the premises aren’t clean, or if you have to wait for equipment, you can quickly lose motivation.  Further, you can’t out-exercise a bad diet,” said Elaine Vakalopoulos.   As a result, Snap Fitness 24/7 has established a couple of alliances to provide members with a manageable road map required to obtain real, sustaining results and to live a healthier, happier, life.

For one, Snap Fitness 24/7 and fellow tenant, Canterbury Wellness Center, offer reciprocal discounts to their respective members.  Snap offers the exercise component, while Canterbury Wellness, run by chiropractor, Dr. Burns, provides a protein based weight loss program.  On Sunday, January 20th, 2013 we will be co-hosting a table at The Sandwich Public Library this winter in support of the library remaining open Sundays.

Secondly, Snap Fitness is pleased to be associated with health coach, Maureen Francis, RYT, owner of Tranquil Yoga and Beyond.  Ms. Francis will be offering yoga classes and seminars at Snap Fitness, starting in January.  She will speak on topics such as “Weigh Less, Live More,” and “Sugar Blues,” to name a couple.  Ms. Francis’ approach is to not dwell on calories or food restrictions, but more to work with developing a deeper understanding of food and lifestyle choices.  There is no cost for members and only $5.00 for non-members.  “We encourage folks to call us for dates, details and RSVP for the events.”

Snap Fitness is a national franchise with over 1,300 units around the country. Members have around the clock access to all of the centers, which are equipped with state-of-the-art cardio and strength-training equipment. This allows busy individuals the opportunity to stay active and fit without sacrificing time and convenience.

The club is now offering a free week trial membership so that non-members can ‘try before they buy.’   To arrange a tour of the club or for more information, call 508 833 SNAP (7627) or visit www.snapfitness.com/sandwich.   We are also on Facebook  Snap Fitness 24/7 of Sandwich.
