Line painting on Route 6 in Wellfleet set for May 7

Line painting will be done in areas where rumble strip was recently installed

MassDOT will be painting a yellow double center line on Route 6 in Wellfleet Thursday morning. The line painting is a follow up to the rumble strip installation (milling) done at the end of April. Painting will begin at 8 a.m. Thursday and is expected to last throughout the day.

Crews will start near the Eastham town line and work east towards the Truro town line.

Milling was done in three areas where head-on crashes are more likely to occur or have occurred. These areas were from the Eastham town line to Castagna Drive, Lieutenant Island Road to Old County Road and Main Street to Wellfleet Woods Lane.
