Bumps Road milling and paving to begin May 29

Work in Osterville and Centerville will start on Friday, May 29 and finish on Monday, June 1

The Town of Barnstable announced Thursday that roadwork will begin on Bumps River Road in Centerville and Osterville on Friday, May 29. The Barnstable Department of Public Works will be milling sections of the road between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The road work will be suspended over the weekend and will begin again at 7 a.m. on Monday, June 1. Motorists are advised that pavement may be uneven in milled sections of Bumps River Road on Saturday and Sunday.

On Monday, the DPW will be installing asphalt to even out the pavement.

Motorists are advised to decrease speed in work areas and to be mindful of safety signs posted near work zones.

Bumps River Road will be open to through traffic while the milling and paving is being done.
