Massachusetts State Police nabbed a fugitive sex offender who failed to register with local police. The Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section (VFAS) located and arrested 47-year-old Stephen H. Frostholm, Jr. in Concord, NH Wednesday morning.

According to a State Police release, Frostholm was accused of repeatedly raping a 10-year-old boy in Barnstable in 1999 where he was employed as a school bus driver. In the course of the investigation, police discovered that Frostholm had also sexually assaulted a second young boy.

In 2001, Frostholm was convicted of multiple accounts of rape of a child, and indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 and classified as a Level 3 sex offender.

Frostholm had similar convictions in Maine and New Hampshire, according to State Police. In June 2013, Frostholm completed a sentence in a New Hampshire state prison and was informed by prison officials that he was required to register as a sex offender when he arrived at the shelter he was headed to in Boston. Frostholm never arrived at the shelter, police said.

Upon his release and subsequent disappearance, Barnstable Superior Court issued a warrant for Frostholm's arrest.

Massachusetts State Police were assisted by New Hampshire local police and United States Marshals in locating and apprehending Frostholm. He will now face charges for failing to register as a sex offender. welcomes thoughtful comments and the varied opinions of our readers.
