Sealed bid marine auction set for September 19 in Centerville

Barnstable Harbormaster to hold auction of vessels, engines and surplus

The Barnstable Harbormaster will hold a sealed bid auction on Saturday, September 19 at the Marine and Environmental Affairs Office at 1189 Phinney's Lane in Centerville. According to a public notice, the auction will feature abandoned vessels, surplus, marine outboard engines and other marine-related items.

Viewing and bidding will be from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. All bids will then be awarded by 11:30 a.m.

Winning bidders will have until 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 19 to pay and remove their purchase from the site. Failure to pay or remove the purchased items will result in forfeiture, the notice said.

Payments may be made in cash or check (payable to Town of Barnstable).

No early viewing will be permitted. Questions about the auction itself may be directed to the Barnstable Harbormaster's Office at 508-790-6273. Neither the harbormaster or his staff will answer any questions about the items in the auction until view begins at 8:30 a.m. on September 19.

Should it be required, additional parking will be available in the vacant lot across the street from the Marine and Environmental Affairs Office.
