Truro police issue traffic advisory for agricultural fair

Traffic near the center of town expected to be heavy on Sunday, September 6

Truro police have issued a traffic advisory for the Truro Agricultural Fair on Sunday, September 6. The fair will be held on Truro Center Road from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Traffic in the area is expected to be heavy between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Truro Center Road, North and South Pamet Roads, Castle Road and Depot Road, as well as Route 6 near the area.

An increase in bicycle, pedestrian and vehicle traffic is expected.

Truro police will close South Pamet Road from the North Pamet Road intersection under Route 6 to Truro Center Road. Traffic on Truro Center Road will alternate between South Pamet Road and Old Pamet Way. Castle Road will be one direction only (north), between Truro Center Road and Bridge Road. Parking will be allowed on the left side of Castle Road during the event.

Police officers and CERT volunteers will be on hand to direct motorists.

The fair is a celebration of local agriculture, aquaculture, fishing and farming. There are fun activities, music, a pie-eating contest and much more. See complete details on the website here.
