Town of Falmouth to host first ever muni citizens academy

Participants will learn about about town government in eight sessions

The Town of Falmouth will hold its first ever Falmouth Municipal Citizens Academy starting September 17. The academy, which will cover many aspects of town government, will be held on Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Lawrence School Library for eight sessions.

Participants are expected to attend all eight sessions. A certificate of completion will be awarded to participants during a graduation on Thursday, November 12.

Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the class limit has been reached. Remaining applicants will be added to a wait list. 

Topics will include the town moderator and town meeting, the school department, the town manager and selectmen, town elections, the planning board, public safety services, conservation and human services.
