Detour in place for High Street paving project in West Barnstable

Road will only be open to local residents on September 15

The Barnstable Department of Public Works will be paving High Street in West Barnstable on Tuesday, September 15. According to a notice from the town, a detour will be in place and only local residents will be able to access the road.

The paving project is expected to begin at 7 a.m. and continue through until 5 p.m. If weather permits, the project is expected to be completed by the end of the day Tuesday.

At 5 p.m., High Street will be once again open to all motorist. High Street connects Route 6A and Old County Road which feeds into Chase Road, offering access to Route 6 at Exit 4.

Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes during the paving project.
