Road work to start in Barnstable September 28

Work will be done in four different locations

The Barnstable Department of Public Works will begin road work projects in four different areas on Monday, September 28. The project will consist of milling existing roadway surfaces, drainage system adjustments and placement of new asphalt pavement surfaces.

The work will be done on Mary Dunn Road and Old Strawberry Hill Road in Hyannis, Wakeby Road in Marstons Mills and Putnam Ave. in Cotuit.

Work will be done between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. During that time, only one lane will be open to traffic. Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes during work time.

The Barnstable DPW anticipates the work being done by October 30, weather-permitting.
