Road work to start October 13 in Osterville and Hyannis

Work will be done on Old Strawberry Hill Road in Hyannis and East Bay Road in Osterville

The Barnstable Department of Public Works announced the start of two road projects on Tuesday, October 13. Work will be done on Old Strawberry Hill Road in Hyannis between Phinney's Lane and Route 132 and on East Bay Road in Osterville.

The Hyannis project includes paving. The Osterville project includes pulverizing existing roadway surfaces, excavation and grading, drainage system adjustments and placement of new asphalt pavement surfaces, according to a DPW release.

Work will begin promptly at 7 a.m. and will stop at 5 p.m. While the work is being done, one lane will be open to motorists. After 5 p.m., both lanes will be open.

Motorists should expect delays in both of these areas and are encouraged to seek alternate routes.

Both projects are expected to be completed by Friday, October 23 if weather permits.
