RUGG, William Carter Sr. of Centerville, MA, passed away in the early hours of March 8, 2016, at a hospice home in Hingham, Massachusetts, at the age of 70, of cancer. Bill was born in Newton, Massachusetts on August 3, 1945, the son of George Henry Rugg and Margaret Goullaud Rugg.
He was raised in Arlington, Massachusetts and attended the Arlington Public Schools. He married Jeanne Bradley in 1965. Bill spent most of his life in Falmouth, Massachusetts, was well known in the local business community and was the proud owner of NAPA Auto Parts, Cape Cod. He lived, most recently, in Centerville, Massachusetts, and was enjoying his retirement, mowing his lawn and restoring a very old and unique farmhouse on 55 acres in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. He also spent many winters in Sanibel, Florida.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife Jeanne, his daughter Kelley, of Hingham, Massachusetts and her two sons, Nathan, and Nicholas, his son Bill Jr, and his wife Brett, also of Hingham, and their sons Carter, and Travis, his brother Peter and his wife Patricia, of Worcester, Massachusetts and his sister Cynthia, of Belmont, Massachusetts. In addition he leaves many many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A period of visitation will be observed on Friday, March 18 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 584 West Falmouth Highway, WEST FALMOUTH. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial is private.
