Mary P. Hackett, 84, of East Falmouth and formerly of Pembroke, passed away at the JML Care Center on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert G. Hackett for 59 years. Born in Weymouth to Patrick H. and Rose A. (DeCoste) Dwyer.
She was a graduate of Weymouth High School. She was the former owner of the Bobby Hackett Restaurant in Pembroke. She was an active communicant of St. Anthony’s Church in East Falmouth. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Mary was the loving mother of: Michael R. Hackett and wife Anne M. of Pembroke, Mark T. Hackett and wife Kathleen of Plymouth, Kevin P. Hackett and wife Nina of Plympton, Karen (Hackett) Bere and her late husband Lawrence Bere of Plymouth, and Christopher E. Hackett of Falmouth. She is also survived by her brother, Patrick H. Dwyer of Kingston, 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Barbara Dwyer Coveney.
Visiting hours will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, April 15 at Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 584 West Falmouth Highway (Route 28A), WEST FALMOUTH. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Noon on Saturday, April 16 at St. Anthony’s Church, 167 East Falmouth Highway (Route 28), East Falmouth. Burial will follow in the St. Anthony Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Anthony’s Church.
