One hundred and twenty five Barnstable homebound seniors were treated to Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings last week thanks to the Barnstable Senior Center.  Now in its 11th year, the Turkey Trot was again a big success, according to senior center outreach coordinators Claudia Borden and Judy Redd.

On the day before Thanksgiving, the team of volunteers gathered at the senior center in Hyannis to prepare, pack and deliver delicious dinners across Barnstable.

Several local businesses and organizations volunteered and donated to the cause including the Friends of the Barnstable Council on Aging, Coca Cola of Northern New England, Trader Joe's, Cape Cod Needy Fund, Hyannis Food Service, Cumberland Farms and Girl Scout Cadet Troop 81062.

The Barnstable Senior Center offers extensive programming and services for older residents in Barnstable. The senior center is located at 825 Falmouth Road in Hyannis.
