Traffic signal work on Wednesday

From the Barnstable DPW:

The Department of Public Works will be performing repairs to the Traffic Signal System at the intersection of Independence Drive and Attucks Lane on Wednesday June 7, 2017. Improvements include: replacement of span wire; installation of new hurricane disconnects; new tether hardware and tether attachments; and removal and reinstallation of existing traffic signals. Work is expected to be completed Wednesday June 7, 2017.

The intersection will be without the use of traffic signals for the duration of construction. At times, vehicular traffic will be directed by Barnstable Police Officers.

Operations will start promptly at 9 AM and run until 3 PM, after which time traffic will be opened back onto all lanes of these roadways.

Traffic during construction operations will be delayed and motorists are advised to seek alternate routes to avoid the construction work.

As always, please slow down and use extreme caution when traveling through the road construction areas and follow posted safety signs.
