Falmouth Police: Controlled Detonation Planned Today

Naval flare will be detonated between 12:00 and 1:00 today

Notice from the Falmouth Police Department:

What appears to be a naval flare was found by a family in East Falmouth. Due to the potential dangerous nature of the device, the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad was notified. The device will be destroyed this afternoon in a controlled detonation at the Town Leaf Dump off Blacksmith Shop Road. The detonation is expected to take place between noon and 1:00 pm.
