Expect service disruptions possibly through Friday

SPECIAL TRAVEL ADVISORY UPDATE

The National Weather Service has issued a Tropical Storm Warning for Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. Tropical Storm force winds are expected throughout Thursday. The Steamship Authority expects trip service disruptions Wednesday, Thursday and possibly Friday due to the potential impacts of Hurricane Jose.

NANTUCKET SERVICE UPDATE

The Steamship Authority has temporarily suspended its ferry service on the Nantucket route due to high winds and rough seas.

MARTHA'S VINEYARD SERVICE UPDATE

Ferry service for Martha’s Vineyard is continuing on a trip-by-trip basis.

All of Wednesday’s (September 20) and Thursday’s (September 21) trips to and from Oak Bluffs are being diverted to Vineyard Haven.

The Steamship Authority is continuing to monitor the progress of the pending storm and will issue further travel advisories and updates as revised forecasts are released by the National Weather Service.

The Steamship Authority advises their customers to check its website, www.steamshipauthority.com, for further announcements regarding the resumption of ferry service.
