Re-election Fundraiser for Sen. Julian Cyr Set For June 22

A fundraiser for the reelection of State Senator Julian Cyr will be held Friday, June 22 at the Karoo Restaurant, 3 Main Street, off Route 6, in North Eastham, from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

The event is being hosted by State Rep. Sarah Peake, along with Brad Carlson, Sanette Groenewald, Cindy Horgan, Steve Cole and Adele Blong.

Suggested donations are: $50, $100, $250, and $500. Please RSVP at: [email protected].

Serving Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket, Cyr was elected to the State Senate in November, 2016, the youngest state senator in the 40-member body. He is Chair of the Joint Committee on Community Development and Small Business, Vice Chair of the Joint Committee on Elder Affairs, Vice Chair of the Joint Committee on Tourism, Arts, and Cultural Development, and serves on committees with oversight of public health, housing, municipalities and regional government, environment and agriculture, and social welfare. 

Recently, Cyr was instrumental in the adoption, as part of the Senate Capitol Bonding Bill, of $53 million for critical infrastructure projects on the Cape and Islands. The bill now heads to Gov. Baker’s office for signature.
