Barnstable Schools Postpone First Day of School to Next Week

Schools closed again due to heat...

From the Barnstable Public Schools:

This is Superintendent Meg Mayo-Brown with an important message. Many of our school buildings remain extremely warm due to today's heat index. Tomorrow's forecast predicts another day of high temperatures. We want our first day of school to be a positive experience for all, therefore we will remain closed tomorrow. The first day of school will be Tuesday, September 4, for grades 1-12. Kindergarten orientation will take place on Tuesday, September 4. The first day for Kindergarten students will be Wednesday, September 5. Preschool Orientations will remain as scheduled for tomorrow, August 30.

We look forward to welcoming our students in grades 1-12 on Tuesday. And, we wish all of our families a wonderful and cool Labor Day weekend.
