Wareham DNR Responds to Boat Fire

Update from Bourne Firefighters...

At approx 1200 BFD was notified of a boat in the canal adrift that had smoke coming from the engine room. M130, E121, C143, and C145 were dispatch along with USCG, Sandwich Fire boat, DNR, and Onset Fire.

DNR was first on scene and assisted with pushing the adrift boat to the south side of the canal against the rocks. E121 along with DNR had heavy smoke and flames showing from the starboard side of the 30 ft craft. E121 deployed his lines and using foam to extinguish fire.

All souls on board were rescued prior to boat catching on fire.

BFD would like to thank Sandwich Fire, DNR, USCG, Onset fire for the assist.

Boat was taken under tow and towed to Wareham harbor.

WDNR is on scene with a working boat fire in the Cape Cod Canal, east of the Bourne Bridge with numerous agencies involved.
