Fall Classes, brought to you by the Sandwich Arts Alliance, will be held at the Sandwich Public Library as well as Score Music Studio and the British Beer Company, starting Monday, October 1st. Classes will run four to five weeks. Descriptions and registration are available online now at www.sandwichartsalliance.org, and brochures are available at Sandwich Public Library in addition to other area libraries.
The 2018 Fall Classes lineup ranges from returning favorites to new and exciting options such as Open Studio which allows artists to paint in a cooperative setting with one-on-one coaching in a medium and subject of their choice. Other courses this fall include creative drama classes and workshops for three age groups with interaction and lots of laughter.
Following are the classes and brief descriptions:
Open Studio - Develop the skills to move forward with the art of your choosing.
What Comes Next: Improv for Adults - Improvisation, theatre games, exercises, and basic acting techniques.
Drawing 101 for Adults and Teens - Develop drawing skills by experimenting with a broad range of drawing tools and techniques.
Introduction to Silver Metal Clay - Handle, shape, texture, refine, fire and finish fine silver clay.
Monet Felted Workshop - Learn the basics of wet felting and receive an instruction sheet to do projects at home.
Paint Night! Ladies Night Out - Paint and socialize at the British Beer Company and go home with a fall-themed masterpiece.
Jewelry Refurbish - Learn ways to re-create or repair those pieces that you just can’t seem to part with.
Let Go and Loosen Up – Explore painting using larger quantities of fewer colors and stretch your color mixing sensibilities.
Learn to Play in a Band, ages 9-13 - Sing, learn a little guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, drums and how to use electronics.
Drawing for Kids, ages 7-12 - Learn and practice drawing skills drawing from still life and real life.
Art History for Kids, ages 7-12 - Be inspired by the masters to create works of art using similar materials & tools.
Creative Drama, ages 9-12 - This fun class focuses on participation rather than performance.
Improv for Teens, ages 10-14 - Theatre games and exercises, improvisation, story building and enactment, and basic acting techniques.
