From the National Weather Service:
Sunday Morning Briefing:
* Continued unseasonably cool today
* Warm and humid weather returns this week
* Showers/storms Monday - Wednesday
* High surf/rip currents from Florence this week
High pressure building into the region from Canada will bring another day of unseasonably cool temperatures with highs in the 60s.
Showers and scattered thunderstorms will arrive Monday as a warm front lifts through the region, and brings warmer and more humid weather for much of the week. Scattered "hit or miss" showers and storms should linger into Tuesday and Wednesday.
What about the tropics? The latest forecast is for Florence to strengthen into a major hurricane, with landfall in the Carolinas later this week. For us here in southern New England, expect high surf and dangerous rip currents on south coastal beaches this week, as well as hazardous conditions for mariners due to rough seas.
