Chatham sewer work continues along Old Queen Anne Road Oct. 27

Section of road between Stepping Stones Road and Winterset Drive to close to through traffic

Chatham's major sewer project continues along Old Queen Anne Road. On Monday, October 27, the next portion of the road between Stepping Stones Road and Winterset Drive will be closed to through traffic.

Before this part of the project, the section of road between Main Street and Stepping Stones Road was closed for the project on October 14.

Chatham DPW and Chatham police will have a detour around the area using Main Street and George Ryder Road. Residents will be able to access their homes throughout the entire phase of construction.

To reach the center of Chatham, the town suggests using Old Queen Anne Road to Old Comers Road to Route 28 (Orleans Road).

Weather-permitting, work will be done Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. This phase of the project is expected to last three weeks.

Roads will reopen to all traffic on evenings, holidays and weekends. During the hours work is being done, signage will be in place and police officers will be present to assist motorists.

The work is part of the town's collection system construct project. Complete information is available on the project website here. See the zone map here.
