Sandwich to hold Historic District Committee election Nov. 25

Voters much be historic district residents

The Town of Sandwich will hold an election for the Sandwich Historic District Commission on Tuesday, November 25 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Voters will be electing three members--one for a four-year term, one for a two-year unexpired term and one for a one-year unexpired term.

Nomination papers were due by November 11. 

The Sandwich Historic District Commission oversees any and all exterior changes to buildings, signs and other construction within the district which encompasses the area from Route 6 to the bay, from the Bourne town line to the Barnstable town line. 

From berms to windows, before residents may undertake any exterior changes to their property, they must obtain a certificate of appropriateness through the committee.

All voters must be historic district residents.

The election will be held at the Sandwich Town Hall Annex, 145 Main Street in Sandwich.
