The Bass River Rod and Gun Club last week donated $1,000 in Stop & Shop gift cards to Yarmouth families in need. The gift cards were given to the Yarmouth Police Department. This is the 17th year the club has made such a donation to the department, according to a Yarmouth Police release.

The twenty $50 gift cards will be given to police officers to be distributed to families in the community in need.

Deputy Chief Steven Xiarhos thanked the club members for their donation and said, "the men and women of the Yarmouth Police Department appreciate the chance to continue to help protect and serve those in need, especially during these difficult times for many families."

Founded in 1936, the Bass River Rod and Gun Club is on Route 6A in Yarmouth Port.
