Nomination papers available for Falmouth town election in May

Thirteen town-wide positions, several town meeting posts up for grabs

Nomination papers for the annual Falmouth town election are now available in the Town Clerk's Office at Town Hall. Six offices, with thirteen available positions will appear on the ballot for May 19 election. Town meeting member positions are also up for grabs.

Any Falmouth registered voter is eligible to run for office. 

The following town-wide positions are available:

Anyone interested in running for a town-wide position must collect signatures from 50 Falmouth registered voters.

The Town of Falmouth has a representative town meeting consisting of 243 members. Several town meeting member positions are also available:

  • Nine in each precinct, three-year terms
  • One in Precinct 2, two-year term
  • One in Precinct 3, two-year term
  • One in Precinct 6, two-year term
  • One in Precinct 9, one-year term

To run for town meeting member, signatures from 10 Falmouth registered voters in your precinct must be collected. Town meeting members running for re-election need not obtain nomination papers, but must return the notice mailed to them by the Town Clerk.

The deadline to obtain nomination papers is Friday, March 27. 

Thursday, April 16 is the last day candidates may withdraw from the election. On Friday, April 17, a drawing will be held at 10 a.m. to determine ballot position.
