Bertha(Chamberlain) (Haskell) Seaver, age 97, died peacefully on September 30th. She was born on February 10, 1918, in East Bridgewater, to the late Stuart Chamberlain and Pauline (Taylor) (Chamberlain) Graton. Bertha worked in the shoe industry in Brockton, the fireworks plant in Bridgewater and part time for J.P. Noonan of West Bridgewater until the age of 79. Some of her favorite hobbies were crocheting and knitting gifts for other people.
Bertha was predeceased by both her husbands: Earl F. Haskell and Albert Seaver. She is survived by her children, Earl (Butch) Haskell of Bridgewater and his wife, Vera and Pauline Harwood and her late husband Jon of Barrington, NH. Three grandsons: Earl Haskell and his Fiancé Kathy Moneghan of West Bridgewater, Wayne Haskell of Bridgewater and Jon Harwood and his wife Kathy of Andover. Also three granddaughters, Miriam Pereira and her husband Dennis of CA, Debra Diegoli and her husband David of Taunton and Marjorie Harwood of NH. Bertha also has numerous great grandchildren. She is also survived by two cousins Robert Taylor and his wife Ellen of East Bridgewater and William Taylor of Weymouth.
Bertha’s family would like to thank the Old Colony Hospice Nurses, Bridgewater Housing Authority and all of the maintenance workers and her neighbors for all the kindness and help.
A Funeral service will be held in the Prophett- Chapman Cole and Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. Bridgewater on Saturday October 10 at 11:00.
Visitation will begin prior to the service at 10:00am
Burial will be in Fern Hill Cemetery after the Service.
