Carol A. Avery of East Bridgewater died February 28, 2016 in the Copley at Stoughton Health Care Center at the age of 81. Carol was born in Boston, daughter of the late Georgina B. (Garber) and Rex Arnold Parker and had lived the past 10 years in East Bridgewater previously having lived in Randolph since 1952. Mrs. Avery graduated from Hyde Park High School and was an administrative assistant for the South Shore Visiting Nurse Association for 13 years. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Randolph where she served as church secretary and deaconess for a number of years.
Wife of Elton R. Avery and of the late Robert B. Black. Mother of Douglas A. Black of Derry, NH and his wife Tonya and Joann M. Cerqueira of Norfolk and her husband Manuel. Step mother of Gail L. Pepe of West Bridgewater and her husband Thomas and David W. Avery of West Bridgewater and his wife Jacqueline. Sister of the late James Parker. Carol is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. A Funeral Service will be held in the EAST BRIDGEWATER Prophett-Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home 35 Spring Street East Bridgewater Friday at 11 am. Visiting hours Thursday 4-7pm. Burial in Central Cemetary, Randolph. Memorial Donations may be made to Old Colony Hospice ( oldcolonyhospice.org ) or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America
