David T. Borges

Passed away on March 23, 2016
David T. Borges, a lifelong resident of West Bridgewater, passed away peacefully after a brief illness at the Colony House in Abington on March 23, 2016, at the age of 76. David was born in Brockton, the son of the late Annie (Salvadore) and Antone S. Borges.  David served as a PFC in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was deployed as an aircraft mechanic in Vietnam. After his discharge from the service, David was an injection molder who worked for many years at Component Manufacturing in West Bridgewater, and later at Volex in Franklin before retiring in the year 2000.  David was an aviation enthusiast and licensed aircraft pilot. As a young man, he owned and operated a private airplane with his father. David was a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign War and the Humane Society.     David is survived by two loving daughters: Patricia A. Jared of Loudon, New Hampshire and Tammy S. Borges of Franklin, Indiana. He is the grandfather of Dayton L. Borges, and the cousin of Betty McWilliams of Warren, Michigan. In addition, he is survived by his loving friend and cat, Buddy.    A time of remembrance will begin at 10:00 am Saturday, March 26th  in the East Bridgewater Prophett-Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, located at 35 Spring Street in East Bridgewater. Military honors will be rendered at 11:00 am by the United Stated Army.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Massachusetts Humane Society, Po Box 890127, East Weymouth, MA 02189.
