Dorothy “Dot” Munroe, 94, formerly of Centerville and Walpole, MA died on April 16, 2016 at New Bridge on the Charles in Dedham, MA.
She was the daughter of Percy and Gertrude Torrey and the loving wife of Howard E. Munroe Jr. who predeceased her.
Dorothy grew up in Pawtucket, RI. She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Susan and John Boyle of Canton, MA and Martha and Daniel Callahan of Hockessin, DE, her daughter-in-law, Jackie Munroe of Westerly, RI and predeceased by her stepson, Peter Munroe. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Kristin Boyle and her wife, Kate Perry of Arlington, MA, Michael Boyle of Boston, MA, Bridget Callahan of Philadelphia, PA and Emily Callahan of Newark, DE, and by her great grand-daughter, Arya Perry-Boyle.
Dot lived on Cape Cod for over forty-five years where her heart remained. She was a former member of Craigville Beach Association and Cummaquid Golf Club with her husband Howie, where she was a member of the “9-holers”. She also enjoyed playing bridge and doing needlepoint. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will be held at the John Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Rd, Marstons Mills on Friday, April 22nd from 9:00 to 10:15. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11 am at Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 So. Main Street, Centerville. Burial will follow in Mosswood Cemetery in Cotuit.
