Elizabeth Rose “Betty” O’Donnell Buckley Kazmier, 88 of North Falmouth, born in 1927 in Cambridge MA to her parents Edward F and Carla (Larsen) O’Donnell, died on Sunday, February 28, 2016.
Betty was raised in Roslindale. She was a graduate of Practical Arts, class of 1945 in Roxbury. Betty worked as a bridal consultant at E.T. Slatery. She was the founding president of the Mother of Twins in Dedham and had 2 sets of twins. She was a Eucharistic Minister at St. John the Evangelist in Bourne and she was a member of the Bereavement Committee. She received the Marian Medal for Cape & Islands Deanery 2010. Betty devoted a lot of time at St. John’s. She loved to bird watch, walk the beach and she loved all animals.
She is survived by her children: William J and Denise Buckley from Dedham, Daniel M. and Denise Buckley of Sandwich, Betty Anne and Bob Bevis of Marstons Mills, Tricia Buckley-Corriveau and Thomas Corriveau of Hatchville, Eileen Buckley of Marstons Mills, and Paul and Helen Buckley of Hatchville; her 4 step-children: Peter Kazmier, Diane Cotter, and Laura Rackley; her 23 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that she loved very much. She is also survived by her sister Dagmar (O’Donnell) Bleiler of Thompson CT.
She was predeceased by her husband William J. Buckley Jr, to whom she was married for 21 years (deceased in 1971); her husband Peter W. Kazmier, to whom she was married for 20 years (deceased in 1996); her son, Edward F. Buckley and her step-daughter, Phyllis Pennet.
A period of visitation will be held at St. Patrick’s Church, 511 Main Street in Falmouth on Thursday, March 3rd from 11:30-12:00 p.m., immediately followed by a funeral Mass. Burial will be in the North Falmouth Cemetery.
