Emily J. (Thatcher) Harris, 91, of Wareham died on October 4th, 2015 peacefully after a brief illness. Emily was born in Bourne and lived in Waterbury CT, and then in Boston where she lived and worked for 34 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Charles Harris; her mother Josephine “Chu Chu” Gomes; her father Sylvester Thatcher and step father Joseph Gomes and her niece Emily L. Viera.
She is survived by her sister Alice Pina of Wareham; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Emily worked as a seamstress for 34 years at Wells Manufactory and Best Coat before moving back to Wareham.
She loved Creole music and dancing, and until she became ill she enjoyed watching N. E. sports and Tiger Woods and she was learning how to knit.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 9, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St.. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
Visiting hours are 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Friday at Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Wareham.
