Faith Sullivan McClure Traficanti

Passed away on April 09, 2016
Faith Sullivan McClure Traficanti died peacefully after a short illness on April 9.  She was surrounded by her five loving children John, Daniel, Donald, Deirdre, and Lawrence.  She is the grandmother of seven (Adam, Philip, Gregory, Nicholas, Faith, Molly, and Hannah) and great-grandmother of Kenli. Although a native of Braintree where she attended elementary school, her family often traveled to locations where her father, Daniel P. Sullivan, was a construction superintendent with Stone and Webster.  She lived in such diverse places as Potsville, Pennsylvania, Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Nutley, New Jersey. She studied nutrition at Rockford College (IL) and later settled in suburban Chicago where she raised four boys and a girl.  She was a devoted mother and enjoyed every moment of her job.  She was active in the League of Women Voters and was an avid, lifelong student of politics.  Later, she participated in her parish Catholic Women's Club where she became president and started a large program of adult study groups. After living in suburban Washington and Duxbury, MA, she fulfilled a childhood dream of retiring to Cape Cod in Barnstable.  She was a busy gardener with a wonderful rose garden and nearly finished the library's supply of mysteries.  She was strikingly youthful and active through her 95th birthday which she celebrated five months ago with her children. A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis at 10:00 on Wednesday, April 13.  Burial will follow in Mayflower Cemetery in Duxbury.
