Gregory Grey Warfield, 64, of Hyannis, lost the long battle of cancer on March 14, 2016 despite his strong will to live. Gregory was born and raised in New Windsor, Maryland to the late Nelson and Arlene( Hall) Warfield. He attended High School at Francis Scott Key and earned his G.E.D. Always an avid competitor, basketball and golf were his two passions. Greg was extremely involved in numerous winning basketball teams within the town leagues. He loved to play all sorts of games and share his skills with all. In the 1970's, Gregory met the love of his life, Roseanna (Pena) and shared almost 30 years together. It was his warm and affectionate smile that clearly won her over. To this union, a gift from God was created, their son, Gregory Grey Warfield, Jr. For over 35 years, Greg enjoyed working as a Case Manager, retiring in 2010 from the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health. Beyond his devotion to his family and his passion for basketball and the NBA, Greg was an avid golfer, world traveler, and an eager Frisbee player. Gregory leaves his loving and devoted wife, Roseanna and his beloved son, Grey. He is survived by four brothers, Nelson (Joyce) Warfield, Leroy (Pearl) Warfield, Larry Warfield and Kevin (Janet) Warfield; and six sisters, Brenda (James) Dorsey, Sherry Warfield, Carmen Warfield, Vicki Johnson, Sheree Bell and Gail Warfield; an extended Pena Family, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grand nieces; grand nephews cousins as well as numerous friends. There will always be a place in their hearts filled with fond memories of Gregory, he truly will be missed.The Warfield Family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses and doctors at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for their immeasurable care and support.Visitation will be held at Zion Union Church, 805 Attucks Lane, Hyannis, on Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 10am-Noon with a service beginning at Noon.Donations in Gregory's memory may be made to Zion Union Church, 805 Attucks Lane, Hyannis, MA 02601.
