JoAnn Cahoon Ames Borsari, 66 of Brewster past away on Sept. 5, 2015.
JoAnn was born in Hyannis on March 28, 1949 to the late Walcott and Rebecca Ames.
She grew up and spent her youth in Osterville, MA. She attended Walnut Hill and Barnstable Public Schools, and graduated from Barnstable High class of 1967. JoAnn later attended Averett College , and Endicott Junior College where she received her Associates, Boston University where she received her Bachelors of Science and Lesley University where she received her Masters of Education. JoAnn taught for 30 years at the Brewster Elementary Schools. She was an avid learner and educator, with a true passion for being in the classroom with her students. JoAnn had a genuine love for Cape Cod and shared her appreciation for its beauty with many friends and love ones. During the summers JoAnn embraced the ocean and spent many years as a lifeguard and Red Cross swim instructor. JoAnn is known for her kindness, friendship and the love of life.
She is survived by her loving husband Joseph Borsari of 44 years. Loving mother of Jessica O’Brien, Brenda Waring and Megan Borsari-Finn. Sister of Rodney Ames, Cindy Savery and Brenda Mazzeo. Sister in laws Theresa Jarvis and Pamela Henley. She embraced her 8 grandchildren and shared her love for Cape Cod with them. JoAnn also leaves her chocolate labs Elsie and Harbor.
Visiting hours in the John-Lawrence Funeral Home 3778 Falmouth Rd (Rt. 28) Marstons Mills on Wednesday Sept 9 from 4-7 Pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Thurs Sept 10 at 10:00 am at the Church of the Messiah, 22 Church St. Woods Hole, MA. 02543. Burial will be private.
