Louise Bevelander (Pimental), 88, of Falmouth passed away quietly at her home on Friday, January 29, 2016. She was the wife of the late Benjamin M. Bevelander who died in 1985. She was born in Falmouth, the daughter of the late John M. and Mary P. (Teixeira) Pimental who were both longtime residents of Falmouth.
She was a devoted, wife, mother, sister, friend, neighbor and co-worker. During her recent illness, Louise’s gift of brightening people’s day through her kindness, concern and caring continued as nurses and doctors remarked of what a special women they were treating.
A 1946 graduate of Lawrence High School and lifelong resident of Falmouth, she enjoyed everything Falmouth had to offer. Louise worked as a customer service representative for New England Telephone and Telegraph Company for 24 years and was a longtime member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. In her retirement, Louise enjoyed spending time with her family at her home and was an avid Boston sports team fan, rarely missed a game.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda L. Bevelander of Franklin; son, Mark D. Bevelander and wife Elizabeth A. (Adams) of Taunton; granddaughter, Julia E. Bevelander of Taunton; sisters, Cecelia Pimental of Falmouth, Elaine Lipp of Falmouth, Pauline Crane of Mashpee, Celina Bartolomei of Falmouth, Nancy Shilts of Situate, Deolinda Harrison and husband Howard of Surprise AZ, and Rosalie Maguire of West Medway; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Gilda Lino, and her brother John C. Pimental, both lifelong residents of Falmouth.
Visiting hours will be held from 4–6 PM on Sunday, Jan 31 at Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Falmouth. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Monday, Feb 1 at St. Anthony’s Church, 167 East Falmouth Hwy, East Falmouth. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Jones Rd, Falmouth.
